Fraser v The Police
Scottish Conservative MSP, Murdo Fraser, is threatening legal action against Police Scotland after discovering it recorded a ‘non hate crime incident’ against him.
Fraser said in a tweet: “Choosing to identify as “non-binary” is as valid as choosing to identify as a cat.” A trans activist reported him to Police Scotland and a non-crime hate incident was subsequently recorded. Fraser was never informed but discovered that he had a record when the original complainant approached the Ethical Standards Commissioner to accuse Fraser of breaching the MSPs’ code of conduct.
With the assistance of the Free Speech Union, Fraser is threatening legal action against Police Scotland and has written to the force, arguing that:
Recording his tweet as a hate incident violates the Human Rights Act’s requirement to allow freedom of expression.
Their action violates the Equality Act, which protects characteristics like the philosophical belief that sex is binary.
Their action violates the Data Protection Act for processing personal data without due investigation.
The police’s 2021 ‘Hate Crime Operational Guidance’ violates the law by preventing the police from establishing whether there is a lawful justification to interfere with freedom of expression.
Fraser is demanding that the record of the ‘non crime hate incident’ is deleted and that the police guidance is amended to protect freedom of expression.
Otherwise, he’ll see them in court.
Steping Up To The Oche
Two female darts players have quit their national team over the inclusion of trans-identified males in the women’s game.
Noa-Lynn van Leuven is a trans-identified male darts player from the Netherlands. Last week he won a Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) Women’s Series event, stealing the title from 20-year-old Irish player, Katie Sheldon.
This prompted darts players, Anca Zijlstra and Aileen de Graaf, to quit the Dutch national team rather than have to play alongside Noa-Lynn van Leuven.
Anca Zijlstra announced her departure from the team in a Facebook post. “The moment you're embarrassed to be a part of the Dutch Team, because a biological man is playing in the women's team, it's time to go”, she wrote. “I think that with sports there has to be an equal and level playing field which is to be used and accepted in good faith”.
Announcing her decision to leave the team, Aileen De Graaf commented, “At some point you have to make decisions if something goes against your feelings. You have to do what feels right for you. Hence my decision to also leave the Dutch team”.
Of course, it’s a sad state of affairs that these players should be put in this position. But it’s great news that women are taking such action to protest the inclusion of males in their sport and stand up for their sisters. Respect, strength and solidarity to them both.
Trouble At T’Mill?
The Scottish Parliament is no longer a member of Stonewall's Diversity Champions programme, The Herald has revealed.
A Holyrood spokesperson said that its membership had expired in February and Stonewall was informed earlier this month that it would not be renewed.
Fuck Around, Find Out
The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), Australia’s national broadcaster, has made an undisclosed financial settlement and published a clarification over its portrayal of Kellie-Jay Keen in an interview with Victorian Liberal leader, John Pesutto, last year.
This news must surely now have implications for Kellie-Jay Keen’s defamation case against John Pesutto.
Party Animals
And speaking of Kellie-Jay Keen, her newly registered Party of Women has its first councillor. Mandy Clare is a Party of Women councillor for Winsford Dene.

Case Dismissed
The legal action against a gender critical Civil Service lawyer has been dropped.
Last week we reported on Elspeth Duemmer-Wrigley, A DEFRA lawyer who was being sued by a fellow Civil Service worker over the expression of her ‘gender critical’ (ie fact-based) views.
The anonymous claimant has now officially withdrawn all accusations against her. Elspeth said, “I am incredibly grateful for the generosity of everyone who donated to my crowdfunder… I have been overwhelmed by the swell of support for my case and touched by the kindness of all your messages”.
SEEN & Not Herd
There is a new SEEN on the block. SEEN in Journalism is “A network for journalists and content-makers across platforms who seek to restore accuracy and impartiality to media coverage of sex and gender.”

Leaving Them Kids Alone
Wyoming has become the 23rd US state to ban medical interventions for gender-distressed minors.
This week, Governor Mark Gordon Wyoming signed legislation which prevents the use of puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and so-called ‘gender affirming’ surgery for anyone under eighteen years of age.

Former US gymnast, Jennifer Sey, has launched a brilliant new sportswear brand which seeks to defend single-sex sport for women and girls.
XX-XY is a newly launched sportswear brand which has one simple and unapologetic aim - to protect women’s sports and spaces.
Its brand ambassadors include Riley Gaines, Chloe Cole and Paula Scanlan and it has a great advertisement which encourages girls and young women to stand up for the own rights, sports and spaces.
“For women to be recognised as champions and to simply be afforded the chance to compete on an even playing field — and avail themselves of all the vast educational and developmental opportunities that competing in sports provides — girls' and women’s sports need to remain for girls and women only. We’ll be here defending them until that happens”.

Brilliant work by all those amazing women and men who refuse to be silenced by the trans cult. Big up the Dutch girls darts players for so bravely and publicly making a stand.
