These gender non binary sorts need a dose of cold, hard reality, like volunteering in a third world country for 20 years to knock that dreamt up shit out of them. I really cannot deal with people who live in self invented little bubbles of their own speshulness ... and then become passive aggressive or just outright aggressive when we wont turn ourselves into mere accessories in their new world order. I suspect that leaky old wooden boat will teach him a few lessons about reality if he ever manages to leave the dock. He'll find sea storms don't respect pronouns either.
My late husband used to love sitting with women friends and catching up with gossip. I'd no interest in it myself. So here is yet another retrograde gender cliche: only women gossip while drinking wine.

This reminds me of a conversation I had with a friend's 20 something son. It was really boring but I kept with it until he flounce off. It would seem that he thought me to be more open minded that his bigoted parents, then decided that I am not!
The reason I say boring is that to every question I asked him, I got the same reply "you are so NOT listening to me. I am not a boy or a girl and never have been, I am non binary!" I played him a bit of film I took when he was about 11 when he and his sister were running round the garden in their mum's old dresses. He states very clearly "I am a tough boy. This is not a dress. It's a warrior uniform". He accuses me of dubbing it!
He is living in a fantasy world. He dropped out of uni and moved back in with Mum and Dad who want rid of him again. He is not working because "nobody understands him and the fact he is not a boy or a girl". He is being a parasite and the hosts have had enough. He thought I might like him to come live with me. But didn't like the reality of paying rent, buying his own food and paying utility bills. He has no ally in me.
His parents have referred him to the local mental health services but are not hopeful he will turn up. They have also spoken to a solicitor about how to evict him from their home. He is causing huge problems and is obviously not well. He also steals and then blames someone who doesn't exist. He clearly needs treatment but insists his problems stem from the fact he is non_binary. His ultimate threat to his parents is "if you try anything, I will kill myself!" His sister called his bluff, but he didn't try! That is how out of this world he actually is. He will be sectioned for his own good and for the sanity of his family.

I would say that if you're too scared (or can't be arsed) to get up on a stage and try your hand at performance but you really, really need the attention it brings, just announce that you're "non-binary." Throw in a big whining heap of victimhood and you're good to go. No need to even develop a vaguely-interesting personality.

(a) I’m severely lacking in personality. I need this label to make myself more interesting
(b) I’m so young I don’t realise how stupid I’m going to feel about this “identity” when I grow up

(d) I’m a bloke and I want to be able to sleep in the same room as girls/women (without having to bother pretending I’m a trans woman)
