Pride month is going well

Transvestites and women in suits descended on Westminster to lobby MPs regarding the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) guidance on the Supreme Court’s clarification of the Equality Act, particularly the part about public toilets. Parliament had updated its visitor guidance the previous day to reflect the law and assert that visitors should use ‘facilities that correspond to their biological sex or the gender-neutral toilets.’

Except, of course, this was a group of trans activists, and as anyone who’s watched a trans protest over the last few years will know, they always descend into a sexually aggressive farce. And this was no exception. In fact, one of the organisers, ‘She Guevara’, felt the need to write to attendees in advance, warning them, ‘if you cannot keep your shit together’, then ‘do not go’.

The warning was not heeded. There were many complaints about having to stand in line for security checks in order to enter parliament and no one seemed to have thought to bring their own drinks on a hot summer’s day. Once inside, the ‘lobbying’ almost entirely involved troons boasting online that they were using the toilets they’re not allowed to use.

To the disappointment of the protestors, it seems there was no attempt to prevent them from illegally accessing the same sex facilities meant for the opposite sex. One fragile flower says he was brutally ‘misgendered’ by a police officer despite wearing a dress, makeup and tights and carrying A HANDBAG. We can only hope the PC was wearing a pronoun badge, otherwise the observation that he was male seems a little hypocritical.

Although illegally accessing women’s toilets to ‘own the TERFs’ was clearly the aim of the day, a few troons actually met with MPs or their staff. YouTuber ‘Abigail’ Thorn met with the Labour MP for Leeds, Alex Sobel, who looked suitably terrified (and tiny). ‘Abigail’ claims Alex told him the Equality and Human Rights Commission’s interim statement ‘doesn’t have to be obeyed’ and that the ECHR will probably ‘sort this out’. This reckless stupidity is not surprising coming from a man who doesn’t believe there should be sex-segregated facilities for women in hospitals, schools, refuges or prisons. It’s doubtful he gave a thought to his former colleague and fellow MP, Rosie Duffield, who had to take extra security measures on the day of the protest simply because she believes women deserve dignity and safety.

Singer Kate Nash was also on hand to inform us that ‘transphobia is not cool’. She’s pretending to be pleased that her song about TERFs (‘GERM’) made the top 100 in the UK Charts. For one week. Peaking at 100.

Aren’t dolphins meant to be intelligent?

On the same day as the lobby protest, the identity of the newly elected chair of the British Medical Association (BMA) came to light. Dr Dolphin’s X account sports a large progress pride flag as its background image and it seems he has been at the forefront of opposing single sex wards, toilets and spaces in the NHS for some time. Dolphin is a Labour activist and has previously posted his support for a ‘trans’ protest to ‘show the transphobes that they haven’t won’ after the Supreme Court ruling.

He opposes the government’s ban on puberty blockers for children who are labelled ‘transgender’, because ‘non-trans kids’ are prescribed them for precocious puberty, and he rejects the findings of the Cass Review. This man, who refers to himself as a ‘napwizard’, meaning anaesthetist, is the worst possible choice for a professional medical body which urgently needs to move away from ideological capture and embrace reality.

At the same time he was elected, the BMA passed this motion: ‘We affirm the right of all LGBTQ+ patients and staff to identity-based care and working conditions.’

Maybe they didn’t need representation after all

Trans activists are still complaining that there aren’t enough troons on TV but the truth is they’re extremely over-represented, and they’re not going down well.

This week saw the first episode of Transaction, a new ITV comedy about a ‘transgender’ supermarket worker, played by Jordan Gray, and his clumsy boss, played by Nick Frost.

It’s not the best timing. Next week, trans activist Stephen Ireland, who Gray worked with at children’s charity Educate & Celebrate, and filmed a video with in which they talked about children, will be sentenced for child rape.

It’s also not the best comedy. It has an IMDB rating of just 5.5, and social media posts about it, even via normally pro trans media, have been almost entirely negative.

While we don’t know how many people watched the first episode, we have been getting more information about the ratings for What It Feels Like For A Girl, the BBC drama about Paris Lees’ life. And, predictably, they are terrible.

The first episode was aired on BBC Three and, despite the massive budget, secured just 40,000 viewers, about 25 percent down on the average figure for that channel’s timeslot on that day of the week. All the episodes have also been aired on BBC One, from 10.40pm. Usually the BBC gets about 800,000 to 1.5 million viewers for that timeslot on weekdays, however the first episode secured just 480,000 viewers. This is a drop of between nearly 50 and 75 percent. The first episode crept into the top ten, at ten, of most-watched dramas excluding soap operas on terrestrial television that week, but hasn’t been back since, suggesting nobody has watched the episodes as they were broadcast live. We currently don’t have any data on ratings on the iPlayer though, where it has been marketed extensively.

Its ratings on Rotten Tomatoes probably sums up the show. From critics working for mainstream media publications, it has a 100 percent score, in which everyone has given it five out of five stars. The rating from the public, however, is not known, because not enough people have watched it to give it a score.

Did you know the BBC has a ‘global gender and identity correspondent’? Megha Mohan has been doing the job for SEVEN YEARS now. One of the first things she did in the role was produce a video saying the number of intersex people in the world is about the same as the number of people who have red hair. The BBC later admitted that this was completely untrue (about 100 times out). Incredibly, the video, unedited, is still on the BBC.

Anyway, she’s back from a sabbatical, and says she spent four months with two cross-dressing US servicemen, recording them talking about their feelings and gender identities, and criticising Trump’s ‘trans military ban’.

As SEEN in Journalism pointed out, she has never once produced anything about the harms of, for example, self ID. Everything she has broadcast over the last seven years has been about affirming people’s gender identities.

Things might be changing though. This week, BBC newsreader Martine Croxall read out the phrase ‘pregnant people’ from an autocue while live on air, and then stopped and said “women”. While at least one of her colleagues has called for her to “step back”, she’s also received widespread praise.

Meanwhile Lorraine Kelly, abetted by Boy George, embarrassed herself again.

What a terrible idea!

An all-male musical muwsical about Princess Diana is opening in London, and then Salford, this summer. Five different, cross-dressing men will play her. Prince Charles will be played by one man.

Nasty Nick

Further to last week’s column, Nick Contino (‘Lilly Tino’) is now reportedly under investigation by Florida’s attorney general for taking photos and possibly filming in women’s toilets at Disney World. He could face a fine or a five-year prison term if convicted. During a live stream on TikTok this week, Nick referenced the investigation and claimed that ‘my goal taking these pictures was to normalise trans women using the women’s room. That kind of thing doesn’t happen without friction … These aren’t the kinds of things people go to prison for. It would be a public debacle, and that’s good because we want that conversation out there.’ During the stream he continued to receive many donations from fans. He has also joined Snapchat this week, seemingly in order to reach younger followers and further his grift.

And finally

US senator Ted Cruz isn’t quite right here, as Iran has the death penalty for homosexuality, but it allows gay men to say they are women as a way out. In fact the country now carries out the second highest number of ‘gender reassignment surgeries’ in the world, behind only Thailand. However, it’s still funny that he now knows of the existence of India Willoughby.
