Nutmeg's Week: Julie Bindel, Susan Smith, Lotte Ingerslev
Let’s stop pretending that this isn’t a problem
The picture on the left is from 2023, when it was reported that a man in Essex was hanging around schools while dressed as a school girl. Local police said at the time that the public should stop sharing pictures of him as he’s not a threat to children. The other man might be a different person - he’s been spotted lately ‘in Birmingham multiple times at school run times dressed in a girls’ school uniform with a little pink backpack’. Police say he is ‘known to support services’.
We’re back
You’ve hopefully noticed that Nutmeg’s Week hasn’t been emailed out for a couple of weeks. That’s because the one two weeks ago was completely derailed by Graham Linehan’s arrest, while last week’s one was delayed by the fall-out from that arrest and the separate trial he was in the UK for. Apologies for that. Particularly as it’s been a huge couple of weeks.
In fact it seems every week now there is a major global story linked to trans activism, and the last week has been no exception, with the tragic murder of Charlie Kirk. It’s unlikely that anyone reading this will not know the story already so we’re not going to go into detail about it here, but we did post this info just last month about the rising number of killings carried out by trans activists / people who believe they are transgender.
Pride in Surrey really did go ahead
Even though its founder and chair, Stephen Ireland, has just been jailed for raping a child, a senior volunteer has also just been jailed for paedophilia offences and whistleblowers have revealed numerous safeguarding concerns, Pride in Surrey went ahead last week. As a reminder, Pride in Surrey is now run by two men who were in a crystal meth smoking polycule with Stephen Ireland. None of this has stopped several Lib Dem-run councils in Surrey from supporting them, including even Godalming Town Council which awarded Pride in Surrey a £1,500 grant shortly after Ireland was jailed.
Julie Bindel attended the event and managed to get an interview with Lib Dem MP, Zöe Franklin, a trans activist who has previously sent messages of support to Stephen Ireland. Bindel says she asked Franklin about what safeguarding policies had been put in place for this year’s event. This was particularly pertinent because earlier that day, Surrey’s Police and Crime Commissioner, Lisa Townsend, had stated that Pride in Surrey’s recent statement, that ‘Surrey Police have made it explicitly clear that there are no concerns with Pride in Surrey’s safeguarding’, was not true.
However, Franklin sought out security personnel to complain that the questioning had made her feel ‘uncomfortable’. A couple of minutes later, Bindel (a lesbian) and her colleague were told to leave Pride or face being forcibly ejected. (A spokesperson for the Liberal Democrats said any accusations that Franklin asked her to be removed from the event are ‘entirely false’.)
Other local politicians went out of their way to support the event. The mayor of Guildford, Howard Smith (Labour), posted a picture of himself with his two young children, and said it was “special” to attend the event, which celebrates “identity”. Penny Rivers (Lib Dems), someone who’d received an award from Stephen Ireland just before he was arrested last year, helped Smith open the event. Several other local Lib Dem councillors attended, with some waving trans flags and posting about how important it was to attend due to the threat from the ‘far right’.
When the sun shines, we shine together
Police Scotland’s chief constable has been asked by MSPs to make an urgent statement after the policing of a For Women Scotland (FWS) rally appeared to facilitate an abusive man who was aggressively ‘counter-protesting’. FWS was protesting the lack of action taken by the Scottish government to change unlawful schools and prison guidance as a result of the Supreme Court ruling, with the message: ‘Women won’t wait.’ Although FWS had warned the police in advance that counter-protesters would undoubtedly attempt to disrupt its event, the police appeared not to have prepared for this. One particular man deliberately drowned out the voices of women with his sound system and attempted to intimidate attendees. The same man brandished an umbrella at FWS founder Susan Smith, who he then reported to the police for damaging it. The police are actually investigating his complaint, despite evidence that the umbrella was already broken before he approached Smith and attempted to use it as a weapon. MSP Douglas Ross raised the issue in Scottish Parliament and questioned whether police had ‘placed a protective cordon around this person to allow him to disrupt an organised rally’.
Helen Staniland spoke to Susan Smith about the incident and the work of FWS in the latest ‘Wine with Women.’
Cherry picked
Boroughmuir High School, a top Scottish secondary school, banned a pupil’s interview with the local MP, Joanna Cherry, from appearing in the student newspaper because of Cherry’s gender critical views. The now ex-pupil was initially forced by a teacher to re-draft the article repeatedly to ‘sanitise’ any reference to transgenderism and women’s rights. Senior staff then stepped in and prevented the piece from being published at all, stating that it was ‘too political’. The student says one of his teachers had even referred to Cherry as a ‘horrible terf’. The same school has also been accused of teaching students that there are three biological sexes and that first-year pupils are ‘queer’ if they are uncertain about their sexual orientation.

Something is rotten in the state of Denmark
A court has ruled in favour of a woman who was put on trial for ‘misgendering’ a ‘transgender’ fetishist but she still has to pay him compensation. Psychotherapist Lotte Ingerslev wrote a blog post about the man, whose work involves writing ‘inclusivity’ policies for the Danish Football Association. In the post, Ingerslev outlined ‘Nadia’ Jacobsen’s penchant for creating ‘sissy’ or feminisation pornography and fetish content and questioned why this man was writing guidelines which gave men access to women’s changing rooms. Within days of publishing the blog, Ingerslev began to experience harassment from trans activists and her home address was published online.
The men were not held to account for this harassment but Ingerslev was taken to court by Jacobsen, who attempted to sue her for $14,000 because she ‘misgendered’ him. The court found it was ‘not defamatory to refer to a man by his biological sex, to mention his coarse language towards and about others, or to show images from a few of the many fetish-pornographic videos that he himself had published on various open porn platforms.’
The court found, however, that Ingerslev had given the impression that Jacobsen ‘has a particular sexual interest — and that this interest is what motivated DBU’s [Danish Football Association’s] recommendations for the inclusion of more gender identities in Danish football, including the design of locker rooms.’
Ingerslev responded that she is ‘naturally disappointed that the court believes I made a linkage simply by asking DBU a series of questions, and I will discuss with my lawyer whether this should be pursued further in the legal system. I still hope that DBU will reconsider its recommendations. That a very small part of the population struggles with their gender should not give them the right to demand that others accept that they have a different gender than what biology has determined. And it certainly should not give men access to enter women’s locker rooms, toilets, sports competitions and other spaces where women should be able to expect that men do not enter.’
Ingerslev was interviewed in depth by Mr Menno prior to the verdict.
Another woman commits a sex crime with her penis
The Lancashire Telegraph reported on the sentencing of a ‘woman’ who had exposed ‘herself’ to children in a park. The paper claims a young child, who was playing in the park, described ‘Laura’ Mart ‘holding her penis and wiggling it at her.’ The paper initially called the man a ‘woman’ in both the headline and opening sentence, before replacing that word with his name in the headline, but keeping the opening sentence, like his penis, intact. Elsewhere in the media
Clean It, Fix It is a programme in which a team of cleaners and DIY experts make improvements to a home in one day. This week the resident they were helping was a ‘lady’ called Sabrina. It’s a BBC programme - so Sabrina is exactly what you’re expecting.
BBC Three broadcast a transgender propaganda reality show in which a 21 year old man, who’d been on puberty blockers since childhood, was given a ‘Vagina Day’ party to celebrate three years since he was castrated.
BBC Radio Leicester promoted a series that provides ‘education on trans healthcare’. If a cross-dressing man wants to go on a female NHS ward, then they should be put there, says its presenter, adding: “It’s surprisingly easy - you just ask them where they want to go.”
Elsewhere on the BBC, ‘The mosque for Bangladesh’s transgender women’ was broadcast on BBC radio for the seventh time since March, and its news story about an emergency alert test for the UK was supplemented with an image of the trans pride flag.
Plus, next month the BBC will run a documentary about a 19th century male prostitute in New York called Peter Sewally, who sometimes pretended he was a woman, using various different names, for his clients. Bizarrely, the BBC is saying he was a ‘transgender woman’ called Mary Jones. (Almost nothing he said has been recorded - except for him saying he is a man called Peter).
Stop putting children in charge of political parties
The Scottish Greens, which were in government as recently as last year, has elected two young adults as their co-leaders, securing a sensational 640 votes combined.
They’re now doing media rounds in which they’re saying the rights of cross-dressing men to invade female spaces is now as essential to their party’s principles as independence is to the Scottish National Party. Adding that if you know that men are not women, don’t vote for them.
Not to be outdone, Zarah Sultana has also said that if you’re not for men in women’s toilets, then you are not welcome in her new party she’s set up with Jeremy Corbyn.
And finally
Laurie Penny said in 2022 that she’s not transgender. However, she also said, at the same time, that she is both a woman and non-binary (which means not a woman). She now says that because she is non-binary, this means she is transgender. Piers Morgan asked her to explain what she means by ‘non-binary’. It quickly becomes apparent that she has absolutely no idea what this means.
See you next week!

Thank you for this Nutmeg.
I can't be the only person who's waiting for the next person associated with Surrey Pride to be caught doing something they shouldn't around children. I wonder if there's a sort of critical mass of offending that has to occur before all the politicians, who currently seem incapable of seeing how unhealthy the set up is, actually walk away from the organisation. Maybe they never will because it would mean their having to admit how wrong they are.
I've said it once and I'll say it again but the BBC is a lost cause. I caught the cleaning programme with the cross-dresser aka the 'lovely' Sabrina. That's something I can't unsee so thank you VERY much BBC.
Final thought: Laurie Penny - the gift to comedy that keeps on giving.
This is madness. Just madness.
I can't count anymore the number of lunatic articles about these lunatic people and their supporters. And yet another story about a sexual offender going on and on with "her penis"!
If you put this stuff in a novel, no one would believe it. Yet here we are.
I really have no words to describe the amount of schadenfreude I have stored up for when all these criminals and perverts and politicians and "allies" get their comeuppance.
