Med School 1978-1984 with 150 other medical students. Some of the worst people I've ever met. The NHS is an abusive employer 1985 - 2019. Also, an inadequate health care system that get's a free pass because it is "RNHS" (pukes in my mouth). The most dreadful people end up in management/non-clinical roles so I'm not surprised about the two-faced, back-stabbing Doctor that actively campaigned and recruited Consultants and nurse managers to undermine " Sandy Peggie" in the name of "kindness" and "diversity." "Nurse educators" are invariably failures who couldn't hack clinical work but actively promote post-modern, social science, bullshit theories instead of teaching a practical job. The modern NHS ought not to be a perversion of "care" that facilitates creatures from the "uncanny valley" to go foraging in women's safe spaces to satisfy whatever ghastly inclinations that they may have. Humans evolved disgust for very good reasons: a natural response hard-wired in our brains as a survival mechanism, shaped by natural selection over time. A not quite humanoid robot trying to appeal to humans by trying to look like a human, or a biological male pretending to be a woman, induce eerie feelings and make your skin crawl. That is the "uncanny valley..."
That damned online safety act is blocking so many comments. Substackers, please investigate this as it keeps happening. Alternatively get a VPN. At the very least the act should only be blocking bad content like violence and p0rn. Stasi in full swing.
I'm in the same boat. I'll be damned if I'm going to mess about uploading a picture of my raddled old face. God knows where it might end up! Some people get turned on by weird stuff. Lol.
For me it's more about the black listing. Starmer's Stasi has famously already asked for social media companies to let them know when people are complaining about immigration on line. They'll just use this to call us transphobes. I wouldn't upload anything. It's a total con and should only apply to age related websites. Not a news website!
Did you see you can also use your government ID to view it too? You can submit most things digitally now like when you apply for a new passport and also for banking or to access UK government services. I would like to believe and trust it will be used purely for age and identity verification purposes and the organisation(s) they use are fully aware of their obligations in this area!
Highlight and cut the web address bar, open an incognito page then paste the address in, you may be able to see everything without the age verification. It works for me in Chrome.
Thank you again Patrick and for saying that so boldy. What are the rates for the more psychopathic and venal traits in these professions now...
I heard some truly hair-raising stories when I was a student and I could only hope some would be gently steered away, fall at the first or nth hurdle, or get bundled out of rooms rather than end up in patient-facing roles or getting anywhere near treating patients at all. I hope one senior consultant (who is supposedly loved by her patients according to um her, and her social group) changed her views in the last few decades as her attitudes to potential patients left me stunned. There's too much only very slowly edging bullies out and boy they fight tooth and nail. How we keep those genuinely caring people with a vocation in healthcare is bit of a conundrum with this whole fresh onslaught.
What a ghastly parade of incompetent doctors, medical staff and lawyers! The grubby roots of the gender sect are deep and twisted but they will be removed eventually.
So, ‘trans’ people might need a bit more privacy, whereas women (in the real sense) can just put up with having no privacy whatsoever. When is it all going to end, for heaven’s sake!?
The Peggie case is unbelievable. I'm delighted the ruling is so full of nonsense. It will just highlights that our judiciary is completely captured and incapable of even the basics. So strange. This bizarre judge should should be struck off. From what I read elsewhere he was making stuff up too. For example, saying that it ONLY becomes illegal for men to enter women's spaces once a woman in that space complains. This is pure fantasy. Either there is a law or there isn't! Laws are not invoked based on someone complaining. The guy is mental.
As for ramming trans nonsense into the faces of football fans, I think this shouldn't happen inside the stadium. It has nothing to do with football whatsoever and FIFA must remain apolitical. This shouldn't happen full stop and not because Egypt and (allegedly)Iran are requesting it. If we have to suck up the customs of Qatar, then they should have to suck up the customs of the USA and if they don't like it, don't come. Most of all I feel so sorry for gay people that the lunatics and fetishists are dragging their name through the mud. The gay rights movement never rammed their cause down people throats nor were they violent, militant, aggressive or threatening on the whole. Gay people thankfully have achieved full equal rights and it is shameful that trans + alphabet soup are still using the "LGB" part of their ever growing acronym. We all know that when there's talk of LGBTQ+ they just mean trans, and anyone else attached to their circus.
Thanks Nutmeg. I suppose that there have always been bonkers people in the world, it’s just that it’s turned into a kind of social contagion along with indoctrination in schools and the idea that everyone’s truth is valid. Insanity has become the new religion.
Seeding it within academia was a masterstroke. Then after a while, they become the professions, they set the policies, they become the regulators. Then no one knew it could feasibly be anything else. To unpick that takes massive and comprehensive effort and at least we are now starting. We need to look to medical history or the history of subjects (medicine, law, safety, governance, politics) to wash this toxin through and decontaminate the roots, soil and seeds.
Reading back over your great comment - add the church (and church schools) to that list of captured places and arms of the state and establishment. There was a rash of inclusive this inclusive that and one congregation local to me swelled all of a sudden to include men dressed as wonky versions of something (clearly not women), then even a man with pigtails. They were unable to or refused to talk and one only stared aggressively at me. Not exactly 'welcoming' or 'inclusive' for me and we had to station safeguarders around (who couldn't or refused to see when incidents happened). One transsexual man I know would go to some services and I had no issue with him at all - but all this troubles him immensely too.
No actual child visiting was wearing pigtails, but a 'troubled' man with a little girl's hairstyle was drifitng in and out dressed like that. Being a bit creepy. With 'difficult lives'. Haven't we all? Apparently everyone welcome meant not everyone but only those with personality disorders and intimidating behaviour towards women (touching us without consent) who we are asked to politely ignore, of course never addressing mammoths in tiny rooms suffocating us all.
Um, how do we attract our congregation back to the er Church everyone? Any ideas? Anyone?
That sounds awful. The C of E has gone very woke when they should be standing up for christian values and, as you say, encouraging people back to church. I’m a lapsed RC but I can now see the value of Christianity and that many people need the structure of religion. I think it’s time to reassert what has made the west what it is.
I'm a mix of things and am conflicted about a lot, so am fairly broad-minded. I went to schools with a very healthy mix of cultures, religions, philosophies and none.
A lecturer gave us a brief introduction at the beginning of an English undergrad course once - European History. This was over twenty years ago. He mentioned that it was Judeo-Christian and asked along the lines of what does that mean. Very many of my fellow students had no clue what those simple words meant and that Judeo meant Jewish or the context of these religions. Totally clueless. And argued that no it wasn't - yes the gall to argue with no evidence and being fantastically wrong. Because they didn't call themselves, or weren't those things and 'religious' it seemed to be a vague concept with no link to how we live now, our culture, our laws, our everything. Our words. Our food. There was no connection or awareness for them. Why we do and think things, our moral and ethical frameworks. The movements of armies back and forth across land masses and the world. You'd think many had a background or basic interest in what's around them and had picked up enough to get good enough grades to get in (As and Bs) to a 'good' Uni. They would have studied the Second World War at school so I was fairly stunned. Often what we assume to be the general minimum level of awareness and education now seems absent.
Judge Kemp should be struck off. The judgement clearly is not impartial, contains factual inaccuracies and don't even get me started on the bit where it's ok for men to be in women's safe spaces unless a woman complains, or their idea that it's ok for a man to be if he is "feminine enough" i.e. has long hair, wears a dress, wears make-up etc. Well judge Kemp, what about biological women that do not wear make-up, wear trousers and have short hair? I mean FFS, I thought we'd got past all this girls and women have to look a certain way and behave a certain way, and yet here we are being defined by it again because some men have a fetish about being a woman. Which takes me back to the point about it being ok to be in women's loos until one complains.... what type of women would that be judge Kemp? A biological woman with short hair and wearing trousers or one with a penis and who is wearing lipstick? See how ridiculous this is? Very glad Sandie is appealing this verdict.
The judgement is like something out of Alice in Wonderland, I just don’t see how it can stand. But what this whole debacle exposes is the dire standard of so many in the legal profession now that they have to swear allegiance to DEI in order to further their careers. I agree, he should be struck off for gross incompetence. How can a judge not understand the Supreme Court ruling?
Indeed. And yet Lammy wants to get rid of jurys! Good grief. So many have exceeded their level of competence in law and the civil service on the back of performative DEI. Look at those in managerial positions in the NHS.
The only surprising thing about the Peggie case is that, if you live in Scotland, this farce is not a surprise! The SNP has done everything it can to normalise trans ideology, cancel women and set confused children on medical and surgical pathways. Their behaviour over the last decade and more has been reprehensible as they’ve enmeshed this pernicious ideology into every aspect of public life north of the border without a care to its impact on women and girls. Don’t expect the Scottish ‘government’ to speak out against NHS Fife or clean out the cesspit that is that organisation. They’ll do nothing and women and girls will continue to be threatened by deluded blokes.
My experience of Kemp is that he is not capable of using AI. It's possible that he got one of his (younger) staff to write part of the judgment that he didn't understand, and didn't properly check it before releasing it. This is not the first time he has ignored law that doesn't suit his preformed opinions - the ones that hold that the employer is always right.
Hello, how come some papers write name of the judge as "Sandy Kemp", and others, or the internet, write it as "Alexander Kemp" ? Is he a man or a woman ? Weird to be asking that question in that case !!!! Thanks for anyone who know the answer (maybe just that "Alexander" is a "prénom mixte" as we say here ?).
I rather think this particular added veil of confusion suits one side very, very well indeed. How very strange and very predictable. But! But! How can we tell it's a man?! He has a girl's name! Or does he? What is a man?! What is a woman?! How unjust to even ask! Just who can tell it's all such a mystery!
Back to linguistics and genders which is where it should have logically stayed :-)
There is no proper checking in the justice system in Scotland and there hasnt been for a long time. My elderly mum was charged with leaving an accident in a supermarket carpark, which didnt actually happen. A solicitor and her off duty polis affair partner saw a money making scheme (as we found out in court) and reported my mum. The letter she received from the Procurator Fiscals office along with the court summons had 103 mistakes across the letter and the document. When I challenged the legality of the summons based on the mistakes, I was told it wasnt my business, it didnt matter legally and spelling mistakes were allowed! Two of the mistakes were the speliing of my mum's name and her date of birth!! The rest were laughable, included where the alleged incident took place, the time of day, which became 2.03am,etc etc. The Sheriff threw the whole thing out of court when my mum's solicitor handed over the highlighted paperwork. Then the polis found it was all a lie anyway. When senior officials allow documents to leave their desks with their name on them and they haven't read them or proofed them, they are not fit to hold office and should be sacked!
That's awful, but it really underlines how bad the whole legal process is in Scotland. I'm pleased the Sheriff didn't just go along with it, and that the investigation actually did its job.
The Employment Tribunal) has at least dragged these ideologues' contrafactual assertions (that sex isn't binary) into public view. Who wants to be treated by medical staff who swear blind that biology doesn't apply in their health board's area? Fifers deserve better - and medical schools need root and branch reform if this is their output. Such is the cozy Edinburgh civil service cliquishness that the Fife Health Board's members will all retain their fat, padded pensions at the public cost. In reality, they should all be scrambling to make a living after sacrificing their collective and individual integrity on the trans altar.
Medical employment tribunals have been coming up with rum decisions for a long time - the appalling and criminal behaviour of very large bodies (hint hint N cough cough HS) against whistleblowers and engaging in stunning levels of malevolent back covering, like getting handwriting and forensic experts in, often secretly, or with much denial, then cover ups, then more denials, then more cover ups, disappearing people and events or notes and records, eventually taking years dragging people through courts and destroying individuals, families and teams. Oh lessons must be learnt, oh but still it goes on, no comment...
I honestly thought that bit at the beginning about "Queen of Coal" was a parody.
But they're dead serious. How far down the rabbit hole of bizarre trans ideology do you have to be for this to make sense? The guy who likes to dress like a woman faces the extra challenge of having to work like a man while dressing like a woman... How will anybody know he's pretending to be a woman if the coal dust smudges his lipstick?
The plot thickens when you learn it's actually a biopic based on the real-life Carla Rodríguez (ne Carlos), who actually was an Argentinian coal miner who dressed up like a woman. It was illegal for women to work in the coal mines, see, so Carlita was... breaking barriers? Though the mine owners knew he was a man, considering he applied for the job under his birth name.
It's actually a funny story, but I doubt the movie will show much of that. When he got fake tits, they said he couldn't work in the mine anymore, because he was female then, so he had to work in the office. But in the office, where all the women worked, he wasn't accepted because of course he was male, and he went back to the mine. Eventually his case got the law prohibiting women from dangerous jobs repealed. So... barriers broken!
They say there is a first time for everything, and today is the first time I've ever heard anyone have the idea, fact or fiction, of a lifelong dream of becoming a coal miner.
Thanks as ever, Nutmeg and thanks for a great summary of the 'history' of the Sandie Peggie case.
I have never come across such a judgment before - made up quotes, carefully selected quotes to make them misleading, ... I do wonder if some application can be made to set this judgment aside without Sandie's legal team having to go through all the time, effort and expense involved in an appeal.
Glad that Kirralie Smith is appealing - the situation is so bad in Australia!!
Is there any way to bypass this 'age restricted content' barrier that now pops up? I can't read any of the recent posts. I don't access this site on my phone . I have been a subscriber for a while but will have to cancel if there's no way round this. I agree with the legislation but, as with all new things, it needs tweaking to be more flexible.
I had the same thing last week and got this reply from a kind contributor, Jillian Stirling;:
"It’s happening across the platform. Substack have said that they will comply with the new Online Safety Act in Britain and the new laws coming into effect in Australia tomorrow. Our gormless government is banning under 16’s from social media, YouTube included and so platforms will ask for age verification. Substack have said they will comply with the law."

Yes, so do I.
All the Alexanders I know are Sandy and all the Alexandras are Alex. Think how confusing that is for some folks.
That's a really good point! I hadn't thought of it before.

I loved the Seattle Pride story - priceless!

I get it as well even though I wrote it!
It's ridiculously heavy handed and as with all prohibited activities the canny teenager will find a way round it.
Highlight and cut the web address bar, open an incognito page then paste the address in, you may be able to see everything without the age verification. It works for me in Chrome.
