By refusing to acknowledge how Keira Bell must have suffered at the hands of the Tavistock, and the militant activists who helped create the conditions that they operated under, Stonewall UK have firmly aligned themselves with the assertion that no mistakes were made, and that they did nothing wrong.

So do they believe Keira Bell is incorrect that she is a woman? Or do they believe that under-16s should take full responsibility for drastic medical interventions, *even* when they can not fully give informed consent?

I think they're well aware of how there are no firm foundations to gender identity, otherwise they would be directing their anger at the Tavistock for failing to identify someone who "wasn't trans".

Perfectly put, Arthur. I remain horrified at the people who, for whatever their own nefarious reasons, are willing to sacrifice the health & wellbeing of children to uphold this phoney ideology.

I see Stonewall now believe that trans children aren’t free to be who they really are, without the taking of experimental drugs, which the High Court have ruled they cannot consent to, due to *everything* we already know about child psychology and adolescent identity formation. But then the Stonewall Trans Advisory Board contains those noted clinicians Helen Belcher and Alex “Why didn’t I think of this earlier?” Drummond.

Yes, I'm always interested in how people can peddle the myth that being one's 'true self' involves major surgery and a lifetime's reliance on synthetic hormones. And you're quite right about Stonewall - littered with middle aged men who seem determined to send vulnerable children down a path of medicalisation.

On reflection, the thing that strikes me as most incongruous about the Mermaids response is their outrage that "no other" group is treated this way in terms of medicine. Susie Green said the same thing on Newsnight the day of the court judgement.

This is bizarre because the whole justification of the treatment that they advocate relies upon the insistence that gender dysphoria should be viewed as unlike any other condition in history. Consider: at one time, gender dysphoria (the belief that one was somehow 'born in the wrong body') was regarded as a mental illness, a specific type of delusion. That view is absolutely forbidden now- gender dysphoria is not an illness, and it's a hate crime to so much as suggest that it is. But can you name me one other condition that is not considered an illness AND that requires treatment with drugs, surgery or both in order for those who have it to be healthy? Can you name even one? Bet you can't- because there isn't one. Gender dysphoria is Schroedinger's Medical Condition; people who have it are not ill in any way (and only a bigot would suggest otherwise) but at the same time, they need puberty blockers and other medical interventions so urgently that the slightest delay in administering them is putting their very lives in peril.

This unique property of gender dysphoria ought, in itself, to make anyone suspicious of the way that it is described and treated.

Brilliantly put, Rover. Schroedinger's Medical Condition is the perfect description. If it isn't and illness or medical condition, how come the NHS is involved at all? I do agree with Susie Green that no other group is treated like this - certainly no other group can dictate both the diagnosis and treatment of their condition!

Fantastic collation as usual JL. All the gaslighters and Seething fellas in one page. Ha !!!!!

You missed Chase tho. She had a long thread, attacking JK Rowling, then talking about fire alarm 🚨, inciting panic amongst trans people as usual and the worst bit was, we are appealing ofocurse. Imagine her appealing this. Lol. She is having period tantrums 😂

Thanks, Gauri! I saw the Chase thread but decided against including it, partly for the sake of brevity (that's an article all by itself!) but also because I wanted to keep it UK only!

I’m weirdly touched at Chase’s faith that they can successfully challenge a decision that has taken place in another country’s legal system, on a completely different continent! Bless.

Yes, I did wonder how Chase imagined that playing out. Striding into the High Court like the cast of CSI, perhaps?

The irony in these people posting about how traumatised all the kids are, after they’ve spent years repetitively drumming into the kids heads that they WILL be suicidal, they MUST have blockers, etc etc.

Expand full comment

I often find them first coercing and brainwashing kids and teens and then once the kids make irreversible decision, the hormones cause depression and anxiety, and once that sets in they become suicidal. Thus they are the ones who are in fact responsible for the suicide of kids. However they are using DARVO and pointing the fingers at (checks Misognyst dictionary) - TERFS

I am glad people are seeing through their BS more and more now. It's been horrible for people like Suzanne Moore, Legendary JK Rowling, Graham and others who were cancelled for raising the alarm bells. We got the easy end of things atleast compared to them.

Due to having lost their High Court case due to the total paucity of objective and verifiable evidence to support them, you would think that Mermaids, Stonewall et al. would have taken a leaf from the book of a much longer-established religion. The Roman Catholic church realized centuries ago that Trans Substantiation Matters.
