They are gunning for Elaine Miller now, as well!

Bloody hell. He knew, he told people, they didn’t disagree, and Savile died without ever having the account for what he did.

The Edinburgh Fringe my arse! More like The Edinburgh Establishment.

I can never understand the mentality of people who would buy tickets to something when they know what the show will be like. Do they enjoy being offended? I think they do. I think this kind of cancelling is something they get off on. The power over the people they cancel and the power to withold it from others must be like a drug. Let people choose for themselves you fascist little dictators of morality. I very much hope his show is reinstated.

It was only a matter of time before they came for him. I worked at the Edinburgh Assembly Rooms during the festival for many years, the venues mostly run by young people, as they are now. I met Jerry Sadowitz several times. He is certainly an oddball. Bit of a loony at times. Bad temper. If I'm honest I found him quite intimidating - that hat, the hair and the crazy scowl. The free flow foul language - but his show was great. Edgy, very uncomforable at times and often very funny. Unique. The tickets sold themselves.

I was lucky enough to be able to watch loads of shows and have fantastic discussions in the bar afterwards. 'I loved him'. 'I hated him...another beer?' No one was offended, or if they were they simply didn't go see the act again. It was comedy.

Wow. I’m sick to death of moral lectures on the evils of intolerance given by people who then go on to practice intolerance.

Given what’s just happened to Salman Rushdie, I hope all these comedians etc who are keeping quiet about (or taking part in) silencing others who dare to speak about problems with trans issues & queer theory are feeling highly uncomfortable and compromised now.

These wise words of W.C. Fields are always worth remembering at such times as these: "I don't bear grudges. Once I get even with those sons of b*tch*s I forget about them".

Too fringe for Fringe? Maybe the festival needs a new name.

Whoever made that decision at The Pleasance is not fit to be in charge of an Arts venue. Imagine running something that's supposed to be about free expression and letting yourself be bullied by these credulous morons?

Well done Richard Herring and Al Murray but ffs surely there will be more than two speaking up about this?

Al Murray has now spoken up saying he is sorry

Jerry Sadowitz may be our last hope. Edgy, savage humour - so clearly unacceptable to the new order.

As a Glasgow man and fan of Jerry i hope he utterly harpoons the venue, the offended and any 'friends' in the biz that remains silent on this.

Any venue that previously cancelled a show by a comedian due to their art should be blackballed by the comedy circuit.

I'm sure the Edinburgh Safe Space festival will be a huge commercial success and a worthy successor to the Fringe.

BTW, quite enjoying the way everyone is ignoring Graham coming out the closet as a magician. I bet he dresses up in capes.

Shame on anyone involved in cancelling Jerry Sadowitz show!

I hate this garbage where freedom of speech is seen as villainous and the cancellation babies are seen as hero’s. It only takes a minuscule proportion of people to complain and it ruins a career - when this is over all those complicit, responsible, or influential in the demise of free speech will suddenly have amnesia. Sadly we keep all receipts and can provide evidence when this crap goes south completely. This can’t happen fast enough. Spoilt gen z cvnts

I can't find any actual explanation for this cancelling. Is it another case of hot air and cliched disapproval laced with suitable moralistic invective but with no actual details given?
