Thank you for all the kind words but the GnS and the WoW is all JL's work. Gender ideology is so insane that I realised very early on I couldn't keep up with it all. JL has been tireless in catching all the things I can't. I didn't even expect an update over Christmas but she always comes through. Happy new year JL and to all of you guys. Let's hope 2024 is the year this nonsense is put to bed.

Let's make 2024 the year we stop living in a Monty Python skit.

Yes I am eternally quoting Python!! I would be quite happy to be able to stop doing that!

Given that it was Christmas I did have to watch the wrong stable scene again the other day 😊

I loved the fight one you posted before Dusty. I had a diet of watching the videos as a kid and would regularly freak out any unsuspecting adults thinking I was a nice, sweet little girl. Singing 'every sperm is sacred' took some explaining to my lapsed Catholic mother. It's an astonishing ability to say the unsayable, anything to get a laugh and poke holes in the pomposity we're all soaked in. I only recently watched a few interviews where they discussed religion and at the time films were banned - the church figures were almost incapable of coming up with reasoned arguments back.

Hi ThoughSheBeButLittle

I think the classic is the interview between John Cleese and Michael Palin and Malcolm Muggeridge and the Mervyn Stockwood, the Bishop of Southwark ( the latter two had not even watched the film they were discussing, namely the Life of Brian):

It's at about 18 mins here:

Some amazing news to start a Terfy New Year with a feeling of optimism, many thanks JL for your ongoing efforts. 👏

It’s welcome that Daley Thompson has spoken out so clearly, but I have to take issue with the sentence where he says that it’s sad that trans rights have been suppressed for so long. Which rights does he mean? The only rights I can think of are the ones we are fighting to preserve.

Happy new year, TT! 😊

Agree with you. I would love to sit down and talk about this with him. I think the whole subject has been strangely viewed with such caution or sensitivity, with such revulsion and incomprehension, disbelief and lack of seriousness (it's only a few weird feminist women moaning again about their silly little wimmin's issues) that far too much went unsaid and not analysed. So the encroachment happened in plain sight. Which suited the genderologists very well and then a hop and a skip later, that meant 'no debate' was a natural step on for their purposes. So much is confused and this deliberate confusion with rights and terms and confusing what sex-based rights are and which are enshrined in law. Human rights law isn't often easy to understand and now everyone thinks they are an expert on everything we're in a maelstrom of confected opinion mongers.

There was a brilliant takedown of Jonathan 'India' Willoughby by @michaelpforan on X. Worth a look (or on nitter) as he is an actual proper expert his takedowns are informative, factual and therefore absolutely crushing (so Mr Willoughby always turns off replies, which is a shame :-) )

Expand full comment

Yes I agree, TT - when I quoted him the other day I left off that bit because it was meaningless! We ALL have the rights contained in the Human Rights Act but we don't have the right to impinge on the rights of others ...which is what the TRAs want to do

I also wish he wouldn't use the term trans woman. Urgh, absolutely NOTHING about these AGP's is remotely female. Call them what they ARE. Scum would do nicely.

That's very true sadly many dont realise they already have all the rights they need as MEN - to enter Male sporting competitions etc - what they are asking for is the right to invade female space as well. Off the top of my head I cant think of a single trans right that doesnt.

Expand full comment

I'm clearly more bitter and cynical than you and say they DO realise. They know if they compete in their sex category they'd be unremarkable, coming in at 231st or whatever, whereas in the womens category they come first! William/Lia Thomas for example who competed in the mens and didn't win anything until he invaded the womens space. Most (all probably!) have competed in their sex category before switching over to the womens side and can clearly see the massive impact this had on their result.

Expand full comment

Exactly. And it’s time people developed some logical, critical thinking instead of just swallowing the thought terminating mantras.

Expand full comment

Actually I've realised that not only do they contravene women's rights but the demand to be recognised as female and all the pronoun nonsense effectively denies everyone else the right to free speech and forces them to lie or be cancelled. Was there ever an 'oppressed majority' before with the right to basically trample over the rights of the majority in this way? You are right - people need to think more about this issue before speaking out.

Expand full comment

I can only say exactly again 😄. And in particular, this is a psychological experiment on children. We don’t know the effect that this will have on them….being forced to deny the evidence of their own eyes, being forced to lie, the destruction of girls natural instincts in order to safeguard themselves, being told that their feelings of embarrassment etc come second to that of a special ‘girl’. The issues are myriad and complex which makes ‘peaking’ difficult. Where do you begin with someone who just spouts the mantras and has no ability to think things through to their logical conclusion.

Happy New Year, JL and the JL Fan Club 😎 Thanks as ever for the relief of the GNS!

Well done For Women Scotland and all who fought the GRR Bill! Don't see how the woo woo Welsh Government can keep going now?

NZ becoming Terf Island 2!!! I think a lot of credit is due to Kellie-Jay terfing a whole nation!! You can't underestimate how famous she now is in NZ!! I watched the Auckland event again the other day - what courage and also shout out to the brave stewards who also surrounded her! Also shout out to Rex Landy still battling away!

Great stuff from Kemi yet again but now we need action before the General Election. We need roadblocks put in Labour's way!

Congrats to Hannah and Glinner. Great books!

Hey, that's Reina del Cid and Toni Lindgren doing Auld Lang Syne!! Two of my favourite American country singers!! Brilliant!

Thanks again, JL😎

I certainly hope the Tories move from thinking about taking actions to actually doing something as soon as possible. We are in a pretty grim position in that Labour are even more pro trans so there is obvious way to sort this out at the ballot box.

Expand full comment

Yes, Angela, exactly ( and I speak as a former Labour supporter!!). In my experience Governments of whatever colour move very slowly on most things so if, for example, the Tories finalised the schools guidance and amended the Equality Act, then Labour would probably be stuck with that for a long time. However I am worried that this may be a big 'if'!!

I'm not sure how seriously our politicians are taking the whole issue and if they realise for many women it's a deal breaker. Maybe they think that most voters have jumped on the trans bandwagon and there are just a handful of TERFS stirring up trouble. Personally I will not vote for any party which supports self id or any other gender nonsense no matter what other incentives they offer. Nothing matters more to me than my rights as a woman or my democratic rights as a citizen. I hope that women will stand united on this issue and make it clear to all the political parties that support for trans spells disaster at the ballot box.

Omg thank you JL 😊 🙏 after the last depressing outing this is just what's needed for the new year

Scotland will be better off without self Id, hopefully it will stop pandering to fetishistic men larping as women (a physical impossibility).

New Zealand joining the sane side of this argument is good news, may be kellie Jay keens LWS had something to do with this, but whatever I hope they repeal any anti women laws they have on the books and of course NZ now make Australia look like unhinged insane nutjobs.

Hopefully the Swiss will sort out extremely strict guidelines against the indoctrination of children by the genderborg nutjobs.

Daley Thompson has been a stalwart in thus fight to protect women's sports along with Sharron Davies and Martina Navratilova, 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏

Kemi needs to stop looking and start doing, they have looked long enough, it needs to be done before the next election. Good on the Sunday Times inntheir awards, I loved that gospel choir at the coronation!

I have watched Graham on the interviews and he cones across well, I thought the Spiked documentary was excellent, well done to Tom and Graham 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏

Bluegrass music was great fun, thanks JL.

To be very greedy and write again...Daley was my hero when I was under five and a girl who loved sports. It was as simple as loving and being awed and entertained watching someone excel. I was often confused for a boy until I was a lot older and my hair grew a bit. The Arabic men I knew found it hilarious how stampy-footed I got when they mistook me for a boy.

Later at Uni one lecturer put an image of him up and we were asked who it was. I looked around, then stuck my hand up and said who it was. The premise was, this was the 'acceptable face of black men' in the 80s. I sat there stunned, having a joyous childhood memory, that inspired me to excel in sports, being tarnished and twisted. We were thoroughly put in our place by the white, male lecturer. I loved all the track athletes. But I was supposed to rate Daley on his skin colour in comparison to mine now? No one knew what my family background is, no one knew where my grandparents were born but we were being taught to believe we are all incredibly, fundamentally, inherently racist. I went to Uni to be challenged and to learn but had another sinking feeling as I realised at the time how this streak of cultural Marxism was running through everything we were being taught. It's got a lot worse in the two decades since, where this identitarian guff has undermined so much and how we are allowed to relate to each other.

I still love Daley, he is still my hero, even more now and thank you for the reminder of what true fairness in sports looks and sounds like.

Some great news for 2024, thank you!

Daley Thompson's comments were a breath of fresh air. I found out about those via comments from Martina Navratilova who expressed gratitude for them.

Let's hope Kemi makes all those necessary changes before the next elections!

So glad I switched from the guardian to the Times a couple of years back. They're still showing strong support (and feature the odd Kathleen Stock column).

Love the clip (I'm a big Bluegrass fan), isn't it amazing though, this song is also popular across the continent. We used to sing it in France where I grew up, and I've heard it live in Bulgaria, where I now live.

Happy New Year everyone!

A quick note to say thank you for your book, Graham. I will share and discuss it in Belfast. Thank you for the great work that you - and JL - do to support women and free speech.

May 2024 be a year of people continuing to find one another. And of building this movement.

Please also look after your health!! (Advice to myself too.)

p.s. I'm revisiting Count Arthur Strong and weeping with laughter during every episode. I'm starting to care about these characters...
