Monday 19th September - The New Homophobia
A septuagenarian LGB rights veteran was physically assaulted at a Pride parade.
Fred Sargeant has a proud history of LGB activism. He was at the original Stonewall riot for its entirety. He was a proposer and organiser of the first gay pride march (then known as the Christopher Street Liberation Day march) in NYC in 1970. He was the original manager of the Oscar Wilde Memorial Bookshop, the first gay and lesbian bookshop in the world. In 2014, he was honoured by the Heritage of Pride's New York City Pride March and in 2019 he was honoured for his role at Stonewall by the Association des Journalists LGBTQI+'s OUT d'or Awards in Paris. He has spent a lifetime fighting for and defending gay, lesbian & bisexual rights.
He is now 74 years old.
On Sunday he attended the Burlington Pride parade in Vermont to protest what he describes as ‘their misogyny, homophobia, exclusionary policies and divisiveness’.
He was assaulted, spat on and pushed to the ground by several trans activists. His injuries were serious enough to require hospitalisation and medical treatment. He was hit several times on the back of the head, jabbed in the back with an umbrella and his assailants poured coffee over him.
Fred later described the assault on social media:
“I was met by screaming, multiple assaults, ageist comments, shoving, slaps to the back of my head, pouring coffee on me and repeated attempts to steal my signs. Being unsuccessful in their attempts to disrupt my protest and drive me away, the mob pushed me to the ground as the parade ended, further injuring me. They stole or damaged more than $550 worth of my property.”
I’m happy to report that Fred is now back home and on the mend.
We send you all our love and very best wishes, Fred. You’re an absolute legend. Here’s Graham’s interview with him earlier this week.

Trans-identified male, Sara Phillips, is to speak at a festival intended to empower and celebrate girls and young women.
The Shana Project describes itself as a ‘survival kit for girls’. “We educate, empower and inspire girls to be tomorrows confident and curious women.” Its annual Shine Festival is intended to be “An empowering event for the young women and girls of Ireland”.
One of the speakers at this festival for young women and girls is Sara Phillips, a father of three in his 60s who has never been and will never be a girl.
Phillips is the former chair of TENI but stepped down after the organisation’s ‘accounting irregularities’ made headlines. He is currently on the executive board of the National Women’s Council of Ireland.
Phillips is so keen to ‘amplify and platform’ women’s voices that he speaks over and for them in their own organisations and at their own festivals.

REDUXX: A man who is serving a life sentence for the abuse and murder of his own seven year old daughter now ‘identifies as a woman’.
In June 2016 the body of seven-year-old Kamarie Wash was discovered by fishermen in Georgia’s Lake Allatoona. Her head had been shaved and the palms of her hands had been burned in an attempt to conceal her identity. The following day, her father, Michael Deon Wash, called the police to report her missing.
The subsequent investigation found that Wash had routinely abused the little girl, beating her and withholding food from her. She was killed by blunt force trauma to the head and had a broken jaw at the time of her death.
Six years on, Wash has pleaded guilty to her murder and a number of other charges including cruelty to children in the first degree, false statements and concealing the death of another. He has been sentenced to life imprisonment.
Wash now ‘identifies as a woman’ and is calling himself Milan. He is being referred to by his new name and with female pronouns in news coverage of the case. He’s even being described as Kamarie’s ‘parent’ to avoid referencing his sex.
He is a man. He was Kamerie’s father. And he killed her.

EL MUNDO: A victim of domestic violence in Spain has been left without protection because her former partner has ‘changed gender’.
‘Carmen’ and her partner ‘Augustine’ (not their real names) first met in 2011. A decade later Augustine started women’s lingerie when the couple were having sex and then later began ‘identifying as female’ full-time. Though he has no interest in surgery, he decided on hormone treatment. Carmen said she would support him as a friend but ended their romantic relationship. Due to financial constraints, they were forced to continue sharing an apartment but now had separate bedrooms.
Soon after his ‘change of gender’ Augustine began abusing Carmen. She told El Mundo, “Every time I showered, he would get into the tub and touch me, just like at night, when he thought I was asleep, he would get into bed to touch me.” She was forced to put a padlock on her bedroom door.
On arriving home one day in August, Carmen found that the lock on her room had been forcibly removed. When she questioned Augustine about it, he physically attacked her. “After telling me 'shut up, pussy', he started pushing me, hitting me, he tried to take my phone away. I had blood and scratches.”
Carmen went to the hospital to record her injuries and then tried to file a complaint with Mossos d'Esquadra, Catalonia’s police force. However, unbeknown to Carmen, Augustine had officially changed his name and his gender a few months earlier meaning that she could no longer file a complaint of ‘sexist violence’ against him because he is legally a woman.

THE ADVOCATE: A federal appeals court has deemed that a strip search of a Muslim prisoner involving a trans-identified female guard did violate his religious beliefs.
Rufus West is an inmate at the Green Bay Correctional Institution in Wisconsin. As a Muslim, West’s faith dictates that he cannot appear unclothed before members of the opposite sex. Nevertheless, a trans-identified female guard was allowed to supervise West being strip searched.
West objected to the search on religious grounds and requested that future searches only be carried out by a male guard. His request was denied and prison officials warned him that he would be disciplined if he continued to object.
West subsequently took legal action against the prison but a federal district judge dismissed West’s case, denying there had been a ‘cross sex search’. The judge also claimed that preventing a trans-identified female guard from strip searching a Muslim man would be discriminatory… to the guard.
Luckily West appealed the ruling and a three-judge panel reversed the original decision saying, “A prisoner’s right to be free from highly invasive intrusions on bodily privacy by prison employees of the opposite sex — whether on religious or privacy grounds — does not change based on a guard’s transgender status.”
Of course, this ruling is good news. But legal action should never have been necessary in the first place.
Thursday 22nd September - The Vanderbilt House Of Horrors
UNHERD: Disturbing videos have emerged from a Nashville clinic demonstrating the extent to which trans ‘health care’ has become a US medical money spinner.
Unlike the UK where healthcare is free at the point of use, medicine in the US is big business. And that includes transgender healthcare; expensive hormone treatments and ‘reassignment’ surgeries are paid for by the patient or, more usually, by the patient’s insurance company.
Vanderbilt University Medical Centre in Nashville opened a specialist transgender healthcare clinic in 2018. Its services were then extended to a paediatric gender clinic within its children’s hospital. An investigation led by Matt Walsh, right-wing commentator at the Daily Wire, has uncovered some deeply disturbing findings about the clinic and its practices.
Videos have emerged showing the centre’s medical director, Dr Shane Taylor, describing the huge fiscal benefits of opening the Vanderbilt gender clinic. She remarks that elective double mastectomies can “Bring in $40,000 dollars a patient”. She then talks about the potential profit to be made the hospital offering vaginoplasties and phalloplasties. Taylor declares that, “Female-to-male bottom surgeries, these are huge money makers”. She points out that such surgeries are labour intensive, require “A lot of follow up time” and “Make money for the hospital”. She estimates each individual patient can generate $100,000.
Phalloplasty is a procedure which involves a large piece of skin being removed from the patient’s arm or leg and which is then surgically manipulated to mimic a penis. It usually requires a number of complicated and painful surgeries. Complications and adverse side effects (such as an urethrocutaneous fistula, an unwanted opening in the groin area which can leak urine) are very common. A 2021 medical study of patient-reported outcomes of this procedure showed that “Complication rates, including urethral compromise and worsened mental health, remain high”.
In another video from the medical centre, Dr Ellen Clayton, a paediatric specialist, is heard warning staff there would repercussions if they objected to participating in transgender surgeries. “If you are going to assert conscientious objection… you have to realize that is problematic”, she says. “If you don’t want to do this kind of work, don’t work at Vanderbilt”.
The clinic has a programme called ‘Trans Buddies’ under which trans activists attend medical appointments with trans patients. This service is open to children as well as adults. Also available to minors are double mastectomies and cross-sex hormones.
Following the intense media scrutiny arising from these revelations, the VUMC gender clinic website has been unavailable.

THE TELEGRAPH: Britain’s biggest teaching union has withdrawn a glowing review about a book on sex and gender following a backlash from trans activists.
The illustrated book, Sex and Gender: An Introductory Guide, was written by a former teacher, who is a young lesbian with a recent ASD diagnosis. It is intended for children aged eleven and upwards and explains that there are only two sexes with gender being a social construct.
It is published by My Body is Me Publishing. “This engaging book will help young people explore questions about sex, gender, sexual orientation and gender stereotypes in an age-appropriate way. This wonderful guide provides a vital opportunity for young people to have positive, healthy discussions that promote true body positivity and embrace diversity.”
The National Education Union (NEU) published a glowing review of the book in the latest issue of its magazine. It said that the book answered questions about sex and gender in an ‘easy to access, non-threatening way’ that was useful to parents and teachers and described it as a ‘fantastic resource’.
My Body is Me Publishing was set up by Transgender Trend founder, Stephanie Davies Arai, who was recently awarded the British Empire Medal in recognition of her services to children.
Once the connection between the book and Transgender Trend was made, trans activists began attacking the NEU over its recommendation. It didn’t take long for the NEU to be bullied into compliance. A statement from Joint General Secretary, Mary Bousted, circulated on social media. It said that staff were unaware of the book’s connection to Transgender Trend when the review was published and that it was being withdrawn as it was not ‘consistent’ with the NEU’s view.
Stephanie Davies Arai told The Telegraph, “The reason that we wanted to put the book out is that there is so much false and inaccurate information about gender and gender identity, particularly online. The book is based on biological facts… The initial review was objective and now the NEU are coming at it from an ideological viewpoint. That should not be the case from our education union.”
If you wish to complain to the NEU you can find all the relevant contact details here.

Saturday 24th September - We Told You So
Footage of a very shaken and distressed young woman was circulating on social media. In the video the woman explains how, when trying on clothes in Primark’s unisex changing room, two men burst in on her.
The woman was trying on clothes in a Primark store in Cambridge when a man pulled open the curtain to her cubicle. She explains that there were plenty of available cubicles in the changing room so his trespass was obviously deliberate. Shortly afterwards another man did exactly the same thing.
The woman added, after speaking to store staff, “Apparently it’s not the first time it’s happened”.
No, it isn’t.
In July an unknown male was seen trying to film women undressing in a Primark changing room in Sheffield.
Only a few weeks earlier a man was sentenced having been apprehended recording women in a Primark changing room at a store in London.
A few years ago, Primark was in the papers when it started to install ‘gender neutral’ changing rooms in its stores.
The women who protested this policy were painted as prudes, transphobes and bigots. But this will happen again and again until Primark bosses come to their senses.
Sunday 25th September - The Clocks Were Striking 13 In Swindon
DAILY MAIL: A school teacher has lost his job because he refused to collaborate in a pupil’s social transition without first seeking her parent’s permission.
Kevin Lister is a maths teacher with a previously unblemished 18 year career in teaching. He was sacked for ‘gross misconduct’ earlier this month. He was working at a school in Croydon when confronted with an ‘out of the blue’ instruction to use male pronouns and a male name for one of his A Level students, a 17 year old girl.
His immediate response was to highlight the safeguarding issues of this situation. His concerns were over the pupil having parental consent, whether or not she was making an informed decision and the possibility of her taking cross-sex hormones. He did not want to validate the girl’s new ‘gender identity’ without the express permission of her parents.
Lister was shocked to be told by the school’s safeguarding officers that the girl’s parents would not be informed that their daughter now identifies as male. According to the school’s guide on supporting trans-identified students, “Staff should maintain confidentiality and only tell others about the person’s trans status with their permission”.
This put Lister in an impossible position. He told The Daily Mail, “I wanted at least to make sure that my student had parental support and was making an informed decision. As a parent myself, I would have been furious if my child had taken this step and I hadn’t been told”. He tried to be as ‘gentle and polite’ as possible by avoiding use of the pupil’s male name and pronouns.
A few weeks later the pupil decided she wanted to take part in a female-only maths competition. When making a list of those interested, Lister used her female name. (Not unreasonably, since the competition is open only to females.)
Lister was suspended in February and escorted from school grounds after some of his students made allegations of transphobia. Last month a disciplinary hearing upheld three complaints against him; that he had ‘subjected a gender-transitioning student’ to ‘transphobic discrimination’ and ‘harassment’ and had ‘refused to use’ the student’s preferred name and pronouns. He was sacked from his job.
Kevin Lister refutes the allegations made against him and is now taking legal action against the school on the grounds of wrongful dismissal and discrimination. He discussed his current position on GB News and told Andrew Doyle, “The whole ethos of this movement is to accuse people who question it of transphobia”.
In August, the then Attorney General, now Home Secretary, Suella Braverman MP, spoke at the Policy Exchange and made a ground-breaking speech regarding legal responsibilities relating to gender identity ideology.
She clarified that schools are under no legal obligation to treat gender questioning pupils as if they are their ‘preferred gender’ and schools are lawfully able to maintain a single-sex approach.
“Social transition is not a neutral act”, she said, adding that it should only be permitted after extensive consultation with parents & clinicians. “Schools and teachers who socially transition a child without the knowledge or consent of parents or without medical advice increase their exposure to a negligence claim for breach of their duty of care to that child.”
See you next week.
I've just seen a TRA claim that vegan cats can be healthy, as if that's the point.
